The Philippine hog industry is expected to recover by 2023 its original hog population prior to the African swine fever (ASF) crisis, the Department of Agriculture (DA) said on Wednesday.
In a press briefing, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said the forecast will likely be achieved with the recent proclamation of a national emergency due to ASF and the DA’s initiatives under its P27-billion national hog repopulation program.
