CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: Despite having only eight active cases of Covid-19, Bulalacao closed its borders to returning residents to give way for disinfection and respite for frontline health workers. According to the Bulalacao Public Information Office (BPIO), Mayor Ernilo Villas barred people from entering due to surging Covid-19 cases in the country and incidents of local transmissions in the town. The BPIO said transportation firms are allowed to operate. Ships plying the Bulalacao-Aklan and Bulalacao-Palawan route are also allowed for entry of food commodities. According to the Bulalacao Municipal Health Office, the town has 33 confirmed cases with eight active from four villages. It has one fatality from the virus.
