PHINLA is a partnership project of World Vision Development Foundation and EcoWaste Coalition that seeks to assist local government units in improving its waste management systems, provide livelihood opportunities to waste collectors and raise the public’s sense of involvement in addressing waste challenges in the country.
Before the pandemic hit the country, the Philippines has already been recorded as one of the world’s leading waste contributors. Approximately 15 million tons of wastes are generated in the country each year. This figure does not yet reflect the waste generated during the pandemic.
