The Walt Disney Company has confirmed it is set to close 18 of its pay television channels in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, which also includes the Philippines, by October 1.
In a media statement, Disney said that as part of its global efforts to pivot towards a Direct-to-Consumer model and grow its streaming services, it has consolidated its Media Networks business primarily in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
