The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Tacloban City District Engineering Office has lined up 67 projects for 2021 with a budget of P1.1 billion. DPWH Tacloban City District Engineer Lino Francisco Gonzalez said the projects include the rehabilitation and repair of the Mangonbangon and Baruguan bridges, construction of an evacuation center at Barangay New Kawayan, construction of a district health center for northern barangay residents, access road leading to La Villa Francisco Mountain Resort, access road leading to the new airport terminal building, construction of six multipurpose facilities including establishment of North Dry Market and 11 flood mitigation structures, among others. Gonzalez said almost half of the 2021 projects commenced construction last March with at least 20 percent work accomplishment.
