BAGUIO CITY : The Cordillera office of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR-CAR) was able to overshoot its 2020 tax collection goal by over 11 percent amid the heavy impact inflicted by the Covid-19 pandemic to the overall state of the economy not only in the region but also in the whole country.
BIR-CAR regional director Duglas Rufino said that the bureau’s tax collection goal for 2020 was pegged at P4.6 billion but the office was able to collect some P5.19 billion in taxes from individual and corporate taxpayers in the region which reflects more than 11 percent more than the imposed tax collection goal.
