ZAMBOANGA CITY: Close to 1,300 inhabitants, more than 200 of them prisoners of the Zamboanga City Rehabilitation Center (ZCRC) here, are suffering from tuberculosis (TB) as the highly communicable disease reportedly invaded few distant communities of Zamboanga Peninsula.

City health officer Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite informed local newspaper reporters and radio broadcasters “TB has remained fifth on the list of diseases having high mortality in this coastal metropolis, which comprises 98 urban and rural barangay (villages).”
