VIOLATION of the law on data privacy may have been committed by government authorities who “red tagged” or accused individuals or groups as communist sympathizers or terrorists, according to the Department of Justice .

“Possibly the Data Privacy Law, depending on the kind of personal data obtained without the consent of the person concerned, and the purpose for which the data was obtained,” said Guevarra on Friday.
