One person was confirmed dead while 11 others were injured when the breaks of the six-wheeler truck of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) they were riding failed, causing the vehicle to plunge into a ravine in Mindoro Occidental on Wednesday.

Based on a report by the Sablayan Municipal Police Station, the truck with plate number SBD 212, was traversing downhill to Mamburao when the driver lost control of the wheel, with the truck hitting a gutter and rolling over, throwing off its passengers in the ravine near Patrick Bridge Sitio Yapang, Barangay Batong-buhay, Sablayan at 3:40 p.m.
