‘Maduro behind Venezuela jab woe’

MARACAIBO: Opposition leader Juan Guaido on Friday (Saturday in Manila) accused Venezuela’s government of lying about the country’s lack of coronavirus vaccines, denying regime claims that sanctions are to blame. The government claimed on Wednesday that it would have already purchased the 30 million vaccines it needs but for economic sanctions, led by the United States. “I won’t tire myself out repeating it... faced with the official lie about the externalisation of responsibilities: [President] Nicolas Maduro is the only person responsible” for the lack of vaccines, Guaido told a press conference in the capital Caracas.
