THE Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) was the lone local bank among the six institutions that accurately forecasted the Philippines’ 2020 gross domestic product (GDP), the Department of Finance (DoF) announced on Thursday.

The Philippine Statistics Authority reported that the country’s GDP shrank 9.5 percent, its worst decline in Philippine history and the first economic contraction since the Asian financial crisis.
