The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday fired the chief of the Calbayog City Police Station over an alleged shootout last week that resulted in the deaths of Calbayog City Mayor Ronaldo Aquino and two others.

Police LtCol. Neil Montaño was also removed over a viral request letter by the Calbayog police station’s intelligence chief asking a court to list down the names of lawyers representing alleged members of “the communist terrorist group.”
