Ifugao fish production gets boost

MAYOYAO, Ifugao: A P25-million hatchery and training center will soon rise in this town to boost its production of “yu-yu,” locally known as “panispis” or “pikaw,” in the province’s rice terraces.

Lilibeth Signey, director of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in the Cordillera Administrative Region, said the yu-yu fish hatchery and training center will be funded under Republic Act 11494, or the “Bayanihan To Recover As One Act.”
