The Philippine Navy will decommission four of its ships today, March 1, in compliance with the military’s modernization program.
Navy chief VAdmiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo said the four vessels — BRP Quezon (PS70), BRP Pangasinan (PS31), BRP Emilio Liwanag (PC118) and BRP Salvador Abcede (PC114) — could no longer attain the desired operational speed and were costly to maintain.
