DoST signs deals with China’s S&T ministry

THIS newspaper reported on February 15 that the net satisfaction rating of the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) climbed to +57 percent, an improvement from its rating of 51 percent in December 2019. This rating came from a third-party survey conducted in December 2020, which showed that among 98 percent of Filipino adults who were aware of the DoST, 66 percent were satisfied with its performance.

This is not surprising at all since the DoST has been performing well and is even in the forefront of our efforts in addressing the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, in the December 26 edition of this column, I wrote, “It’s about time we listen to those in the know. Let the experts from the DoST and the FDA decide on which vaccines should be administered to Filipinos.”
