THE Department of Agriculture (DA) was asked to give more details on its approach to revive hog industry and reduce prices of pork products.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar had projected a shortage of about 400,000 metric tons (MT) in the country’s supply of pork, with the DA earlier seeking to hike the minimum access volume (MAV) of pork imports to 350,000 MT from the current 54,210 MT to address food supply.
