BAGUIO CITY: A surprise inspection at the city public market recently yielded close to 600 kilos of meat, deemed unfit for human consumption, which was up for sale to consumers.

City Veterinarian Brigit Piok, in a report to Mayor Benjamin Magalong, said a total of 574.3 kilos of meat and chicken were confiscated from six sellers during the inspection, jointly conducted by the City Veterinary Office, the National Meat Inspection Service and the Public Order and Safety Division, headed by Marvin Herrera.
