Although Kat Medrano was born and raised in the United States, she had a very traditional Filipino childhood. “My family is Catholic, and I was raised with the expectation to go into the medical field, ideally as a doctor. I bought into the belief that what I was supposed to do was exactly what my parents had planned for me.”
