GEN. SANTOS: The city police office here has reported a low crime layout with about a 44-percent drop for the last two months under the general community quarantine (GCQ), said City Police Director Col. Gilberto Tuzon. He said crimes for January to date, covering 26 barangay (villages), decreased to 242 from 556 in the same period of last year. Robbery cases still topped the list but declined during the period along with murder, rape and physical injury during the modified GCQ. Gen. Santos is now under GCQ where curfew is from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. The decrease has been attributed to the fact that people have been confined to their homes and that law enforcement has been intensified.
