I MUST beg the indulgence of my dear readers that I have to start, again, with the recent impeachment trial of Donald Trump, which many of you may find totally irrelevant. I would be coming to you from a first-person point of view because this is something that deeply resonates with me, and I am not even referring to the case of Trump and the seven Republicans who voted to convict him but to the fact that if we want transformative politics to have a future, then people should be allowed to change, and we should encourage them.

Seven Republican senators voted against Trump, and yet, despite this, many Trump haters would keep on reminding them that while they may have done so, their votes are not enough to negate the years that they have enabled him through their silence or even their approval. Except for Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, all the six other senators voted to acquit Trump when he was impeached the first time.
