BEIJING: The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to claims that China backed the Myanmar upheaval and reports that some people in Myanmar said they will boycott Chinese goods, said these were pure rumors and intended to sow discord between China and Myanmar.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying made the remarks at a routine press conference on Thursday. Hua said China solemnly and responsibly states that the online allegations are nothing but rumors to disrupt China-Myanmar relations.
