DAVAO CITY: Sto. Tomas town in Davao del Norte has been placed under a state of calamity after it was severely affected by widespread flooding.

On Wednesday, members of the sangguniang bayan (municipal council) passed a resolution, placing the entire town under a state of calamity, based on recommendations by the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, headed by Sto. Tomas Mayor Ernesto Evangelista.
