Signal No. 1 up in parts of Mindanao as ‘Auring’ intensifies into severe tropical storm

SIGNAL No. 1 was raised over some parts of Mindanao as "Auring" transformed into a severe tropical storm and is expected to make landfall on Sunday over Caraga Region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.

Pagasa said Signal No. 1 is up over Davao Oriental, the eastern portion of Davao de Oro (Pantukan, Maragusan, New Bataan, Compostela and Monkayo), the eastern portion of Agusan del Sur (Sibagat, Bayugan City, Prosperidad, Talacogon, San Francisco, Rosario, Bunawan, Santa Josefa and Trento), and Surigao del Sur.
