STA. ANA, a coastal town in Cagayan Valley, has temporarily banned the slaughter of pigs and the sale of pork to stop the spread of the African swine fever (ASF).

The measure was implemented after a specimen taken from the three dead pigs in Barangay Casambalangan turned positive for the ASF virus.
