THE democratic world condemns the detention of Myanmar’s de facto head Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, after a military coup.

Suu Kyi is Myanmar’s counterpart of the Philippines’ Corazon Cojuangco Aquino.
