NATIONAL and local government units (LGUs) have committed to do their part to strengthen sustainable fisheries management in the Philippines.

“We’re starting 2021 with renewed hope for our oceans and our artisanal fisherfolk with national and local governments committing to the effective interventions for sustainable fisheries management,” Gloria Estenzo Ramos, vice president of international nongovernment organization (NGO) Oceana, said in a statement.
