THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has lifted the three-month closed fishing season of galunggong (round scad) in northeastern Palawan, marking the sixth year since it was first implemented in 2015.
With the opening of the galunggong-rich northeastern Palawan, BFAR in a statement on Tuesday said the supply of the fish in the wet markets of Metro Manila was expected to increase. BFAR is expecting the price of the fish to stabilize in the capital region in the coming weeks.
