The Philippines will receive at least 5.6 million doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines from Pfizer BioNTech and AstraZeneca in the first quarter of 2021, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Sunday.

The vaccines will be delivered through the World Health Organization’s Covax Facility — a global initiative that brings together governments and manufacturers to ensure equitable access to vaccines.
