Tower of Babel

FOR many people, the only history is political history. But in the new perspective in historiography, reflecting on faith as a continuing consciousness is part of history, especially fitting because of the upcoming milestone of the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines.

According to the Social Weather Stations, in a survey conducted on Feb. 15 to 17, 2013, to the question “Occasionally, does leaving the Catholic Church cross my mind?”, 9.2 percent of the Catholic respondents, or 1 in 11, said “yes.” It also reflected that within five years before that, there was drop in people attending Mass.
