BONTOC, Mountain Province: Four villages in this town, including Samoki, Poblacion, Bontoc Ili and Caluttit, were placed under a 14-day hard lockdown following the reported presence of the new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) variant, affecting their residents.
Mayor Franklin Odsey said the villages had been placed under lockdown from January 15 to 31 to conduct a comprehensive contact tracing of the close contacts of the 12 reported carriers of the more infectious B117 variant.
