Mixed martial arts star Conor “The Notorious” McGregor is booked to take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 this weekend and if everything goes according to plan, a fight with boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is likely next in his agenda.
Once a figment of the imagination, Pacquiao-McGregor is now on the verge of becoming a reality. The negotiations for the fight arguably picked up steam following the financial success of the recent exhibition bout between boxing fossils Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. If two washed up legends were able to generate truckloads of money for a mere sparring session, there is no doubting the fact that Pacquiao-McGregor will be a bigger financial bonanza. There have been rough estimates that the fight can easily generate revenues in the vicinity of $250 million, possibly more if it is held before a live audience.
