Last January 14, I had the honor and privilege to have been invited to speak before the leading lights of the Greek Shipping Industry in an e-conference on “Expanding Filipino-Greek Cooperation in the Shipping Industry.” Forging partnerships among countries is the way to go if an industry with a worldwide reach shall remain viable. Skinitis for this opportunity.

An equally significant coming together of like-minded individuals happened on November 20, 2020, the virtual conference of women involved in the shipping industry, the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA). Representatives of the European Commission, IMO, government agencies, the business sector, seafarers’ unions, and other stakeholders came together to discuss “The role of the European Commission, IMO, and ILO for empowering women in maritime.”
