Negros Occidental flooded on Jan 1

BACOLOD CITY: Torrential rains in Negros Occidental on January 1 triggered floods in the province’s third district, submerging Victorias City, EB Magalona town and Silay City.

More than 1,508 residents from 12 villages in Victorias City — the hardest hit — needed to be evacuated because flash floods rose as high as 6 feet.
