MARAWI CITY: Dr. Allen Minalang, chief of the Integrated Provincial Health Office in Lanao del Sur, said 113,972 children, aged 9 to 59 months, have been immunized against measles-rubella. He added that Lanao del Sur recorded a 98.06-percent immunization rate against measles-rubella, the highest among the five provinces of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). “It means that our children are 99-percent protected against this destructive illness,” Minalang said. He added that they had launched a massive information campaign, encouraging the public to join immunization programs that would protect their children from vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles-rubella and polio. He cited the full support of Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Dr. Amirel Amz Sandy Usman, chief BARMM Minister Ahod Ebrahim and the United Nations Children’s Fund and HOM for the success of the campaign.
