Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi visited fire victims in Ilaya Street, Alabang to extend the local government unit (LGU)’s assistance on Friday. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection Muntinlupa, at least 100 houses were razed by the fire incident, leaving around 200 families displaced. The LGU provided hot meals and family kits to affected families that were temporarily taking shelter in the Alabang Elementary School covered court. The City Health Office and Department of Disaster Resilience and Management are closely monitoring the evacuation center to mitigate Covid-19 transmission. The victims were also set to receive financial assistance through a local resolution. The cause of fire was still under investigation.
