The Filinvest Group, led by Filinvest Hospitality Corp., has secured a 25-year term lease agreement for a 5,700-square-meter property in Camp John Hay in Baguio City and use it to build a 200-room hotel. The Bases Conversion and Development Authority and the John Hay Management Corp. awarded the contract to the company on December 9. In a statement, Filinvest said the hotel would be under the Grafik and Quest brands and managed by Chroma Hospitality Inc., a hotel management company formed by Filinvest Development Corp. and Archipelago International of Singapore. “Being the center of the Cordillera region, Baguio City has always been one of the company’s top priorities. This unique opportunity will allow us to develop a full-service hotel in [the camp], one of the most prime locations in Baguio. It offers the whole package: exclusivity, nature and panoramic views in the heart of Baguio,” Filinvest Hospitality Senior Vice President Francis Gotianun was quoted as saying in the statement. The hotel, he added, would be ready in three to four years.
