TINGLAYAN town in Kalinga province has been placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), which will end on December 21, after the number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases surged, hitting local government officials including their chief executive officer.

Mayor Sacrament Gumilab on Wednesday said the rapid spread of the virus in their area had reached 98 cases of Covid-19 since November 16 from a mere five recorded cases as of November 15.
