Quirino is emerging as the Banana Capital in Northern Luzon with the Quirino State University (QSU) taking charge in the rehabilitation of the province’s banana industry, which is challenged with a lot of problems such as infestation and natural calamities.
According to QSU Vice President for Academics and Research Dr. Elizabeth Carig, banana is one of the major crops grown in Quirino and a significant source of income for the locals.
