TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte: An official of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Samar has confirmed continued rampant illegal logging in the mountains of Samar.
Baldomero Nuñez, Cenro officer of the DENR in Sta. Rita, Samar, in an interview with The Manila Times identified the towns of Hinabangan and Marabut as the hot spots of such unabated practice.
