CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City: Two still unidentified suspected carnappers were killed in a police operation in Calauan, Laguna. Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A Chief Lt Col Sam Belmonte said the victim identified as Crisanto Delos Santos of Barangay Bitin, Bay, Laguna reported that his motorcycle and cellphone were forcibly taken at gunpoint by two unidentified suspects along National Road, Barangay Lamot 2, Calauan, Laguna. This prompted the joint elements of RHPU4A, Calauan Police and 1st Laguna Provincial Mobile Force Company to conduct a follow up operation and were able to locate the suspects at Purok 3, Barangay Balayhangin, Calauan, Laguna together with the carnapped motorcycle.Belmonte said that upon approaching the hideout, the suspects suddenly fired toward the operating PNP personnel that prompted them to retaliate. After the firefight the two suspects were hit. A Calauan Police personnel, Staff Sgt Diosdado Casupang Jr was hit in his ankle. All wounded individuals were immediately brought to the nearest hospital but the suspects were declared dead on arrival. Recovered from the suspects were 1 Cal 45 pistol, 1 cal 38 revolver and the retrieved motorcycle.
