THE Philippine National ID, or Phil ID, is seen by many as a means for citizens to easily access and avail of government services.
As a response to the economic challenges faced by citizens, following the slowing down of the economy as a result of the nationwide lockdown, the government came up with the Social Amelioration Program (SAP). The lead agency tasked with the implementation of the SAP, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), sees the national ID as easing the process of identifying SAP beneficiaries.
