FAVA president shines at Paris Art Exhibit

LAWYER and artist Tei Leonardo-Ampon, president of the Filipino Advocates for Visual Arts Inc. (FAVA), made an impressive mark at the La Mode En Moi exhibit, held from October 18-20, 2024, at the St. Germain-des-Prés in Paris, France. The exhibit at 8 Rue de Nesle showcased the works of 25 other Filipino women artists from around the world and received strong support from the Philippine Embassy in France, led by Ambassador H.E. Junever Mahilum-West.

One of the highlights of the exhibit was Leonardo-Ampon's painting, 'Light of Hope' (La Luz Doce), part of her renowned Light series. Known for her use of modern impressionistic techniques, Leonardo-Ampon works primarily with acrylic paint. Her composition features a central lamp in bold hues of blue, red, white, and yellow, representing the colors of the Philippine flag. Notably, the three lines of light symbolize the three stars on the flag, signifying the main islands of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
