The Philippines and Japan have reaffirmed their joint commitment to steadily implement the government’s flagship infrastructure projects and other initiatives to further strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries amid and beyond the prolonged coronavirus-induced global crisis.

In a statement over the weekend, the Finance department said that during the virtual meeting of the Philippines-Japan Joint Committee on Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation, Japan also committed to enhance bilateral ties with the Philippines under the leadership of new Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.
