ON Sept. 1, 1970 a “fresher welcome” ceremony for the first year “entering” students to the Rangoon Arts and Science University (RASU) in Burma (all official names then) was held at the Convocation Hall of RASU.
The rector as well as all the professors, departmental heads of RASU gave speeches welcoming the new students. The then philosophy professor at RASU, the late Dr. Khin Maung Win (Oct. 7, 1929 to Jan. 9, 2011), was among the speakers.
