The NBA Playoffs are probably the biggest thing in sports right now absent the Olympics. Every sports event is a huge risk in this time of Covid-19 and the NBA went through painstaking preparations and precautionary measures, culminating in the establishment of an isolation zone or “bubble” in Walt Disney World, Florida, to bring the games to fans.
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is following the NBA model and as of this writing was seeking final approvals to establish its own bubble in Clark, Pampanga. Given the league’s limited resources, options such as Dubai — a successful series of games involving three teams had been staged there — were discarded as being too pricey.
