‘Don’t grant perks to Bulacan airport project’

A group of former government officials, economists and transportation experts on Thursday expressed opposition to granting tax incentives to a unit of top conglomerate San Miguel Corp. for its P734-billion airport project.

In a statement, Action for Economic Reforms (AER) urged the Senate to scrap the tax exemption provision in Senate Bill 1823 granting a franchise to San Miguel Aerocity Inc. to build the New Manila International Airport (NMIA) in Bulakan town, Bulacan province.
