Long after our students have graduated, they may have forgotten what we said. But they would remember how we made them feel. – Anon

AMID this pandemic, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization bids us celebrate World Teachers Day 2020. Accordingly, Republic Act 10743 (2016) declares October 5 of every year as “the National Teachers’ Day,” signed into law by then President Benigno Aquino 3rd. https://laws.chanrobles.com/republicacts/108_republicacts.php?id=10529 . There is, too, the National Teachers’ Month (NTM), September 5 to October 5 — a movement led by Metrobank Foundation Inc. (since 2011), the Department of Education (DepEd) and various multisectoral groups which recognizes “Filipino teachers and educators and their contribution in shaping the country’s future.” The month-long celebration brings “the Teacher’s Day festivities from schools and into the public sphere.” http://www.mbfoundation.org.ph/grants/grants-education/about-the-national-teachers-month-ntm/
