Cataingan, Masbate shaken by 4.2 magnitude earthquake

LEGAZPI CITY: A 4.2-magnitude earthquake hit in Cataingan town in the island province of Masbate anew after a 6.6-magnitude earthquake took place last month. The 4.2-magnitude earthquake took place in Cataingan, Masbate province at 12 noon. According to Phivolcs, the 4.2-magnitude earthquake was tectonic in origin with a depth of 24 kilometers and was the aftershock of the 6.6 magnitude earthquake last August 18. The earthquake also rocked the city of Legazpi City. For several days now, an earthquake has been continuously taking place in Bicol. Masbate province continues to feel aftershocks including the mainland Bicol for a month now after the 6.6 earthquake.
