NOW Corp.’s claim of being the fourth telco is only aimed at boosting its share prices, a former Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) official said.

In a message on Monday, former DICT chief Eliseo Rio said he has not heard of any pronouncements from both the department and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) that NOW Corp.’s affiliate NOW Telecom is the country’s fourth telco.
