9.4M Filipino children to be inoculated starting October

ACROSS the country starting at the end of October, around 9.4 million children under the age of five are to be inoculated against measles-rubella while around 6.9 million kids are to receive the oral polio vaccine, according to the Department of Health (DoH), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations’ Children's Fund (Unicef).

In a joint statement, the three agencies said the first phase of the nationwide measles-rubella and oral polio vaccine immunization campaign will run from October 26 to November 25 in Mindanao regions, Cordillera Administrative Region and Regions 1, 2, 4B and 5 while the second phase of the vaccination campaign will be conducted starting February 2021 in the Visayas regions, Region 3, Region 4A and the National Capital Region.
